Conor Washington has struggled since moving from Peterborough United to Queens Park Rangers.
Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has stated that he would love to sign Queens Park Rangers striker Conor Washington back, but wages would be a stumbling block.
QPR bought Washington off Posh last January, but things have not worked out as planned for the 24-year-old striker.
Washington scored 15 goals in his last 16 appearances for Peterborough, but he has struggled at Loftus Road.
The Northern Ireland international has scored just twice in the Championship in 34 league appearances and he has now fallen out of favour.
There are now some doubts about Washington’s future at QPR, but MacAnthony doesn’t believe Posh would be able to bring him back.
Washington was regularly played out wide by former QPR boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, and he rarely looked comfortable.
The striker actually scored in Ian Holloway’s first match in charge against Norwich City, but he has not found the back of the net since.
QPR are currently in 20th place in the Championship table, and lost 3-0 to Brighton & Hove Albion in their most recent outing.
