Wolverhampton Wanderers have invested heavily in their squad so far this summer.

Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has suggested that he does not believe Wolverhampton Wanderers will be promoted this season.

The likes of Willy Boly and Ruben Neves have added to the stand out quality already at Molineux.

Wolves are now among the favourites to be promoted from the Championship this term.

However, despite the heavy investment, MacAnthony feels that Wolves will miss out on going up.

Peterborough and Wolves actually met in a friendly match recently, and on that occasion Nuno’s side ran out the winners.

Wolves won 1-0 at the ABAX Stadium, with youngster Austin Samuels getting on the score sheet.

The EFL season gets under way this weekend, with Wolves and Posh both in action.

Wolves are set to take on Middlesbrough on opening day, while MacAnthony’s Peterborough side face Plymouth Argyle.
