Ivan Toney has been in wonderful form since leaving Newcastle United, with the striker currently leading the League One top scoring charts.

Peterborough United co-owner Darragh MacAnthony has suggested that Newcastle United could have a sizeable cash windfall on the way, if Ivan Toney is sold.

Posh bought Toney from Newcastle in 2018, and his value has quickly risen since his departure from St. James’ Park.

Toney has scored prolifically at Peterborough, and currently leads the scoring charts in League One for the season, after netting 11 goals for the campaign already.

TeamTalk has already suggested that Toney could be worth at least £10 million.

And MacAnthony has now suggested that Newcastle would take a sizeable chunk of whatever sum Toney is sold for, due to a clause in the transfer which took him to Posh.

Toney’s goalscoring form has shown no signs of slowing this term, so his value is only set to increase as the campaign progresses.

Posh are currently the top scorers in League One, with Darren Ferguson’s side proving to be one of the leading contenders for promotion.

Peterborough have previously sold key players in January, when Toney is almost certain to draw admiring glances, but MacAnthony has suggested that his side will do everything they can to keep all their key players in place for the entirety of this term.
