Sheffield United haven’t made a bid for Peterborough United winger Gwion Edwards.
Peterborough United boss Darragh MacAnthony has taken to Twitter to respond to a fan asking if Sheffield United have made a move for Posh winger Gwion Edwards.
Peterborough lost full back Andrew Hughes to Preston North End earlier today, and whilst speculation continues over the futures of playmaker Marcus Maddison and top goalscorer Jack Marriott, other players may be targeted.
Winger Gwion Edwards enjoyed a decent season for the Posh, hitting seven goals and five assists in 33 outings, again underlining why Peterborough fans rate him so highly.
Formerly of Swansea City, the 25-year-old wide man impressed with Crawley Town before heading to Peterborough in 2016, and scored nine goals in his first season with the club.
Injuries have been a problem for the Welshman, but he has impressed with his pace and dribbling ability, with Championship clubs no doubt keeping tabs on him alongside Maddison and Marriott.
Back in December, we reported that Sheffield United were keen to land Edwards, and one fan has asked Peterborough owner Darragh MacAnthony whether the Blades are back in for him.
However, MacAnthony responded by suggesting that the Blades haven’t been in with a bid, but one of their Championship rivals have failed with a bid for the winger, with Peterborough standing firm so far.
