According to the Daily Mail, Sunderland have lodged a bid of just £250,000 for Wigan Athletic striker Will Grigg as they seek attacking reinforcements.

Grigg appears to be the top target, with the 27-year-old struggling for regular playing time in the Championship with Wigan this season.
He may often flatter to deceive in the Championship, but the Northern Ireland international’s record in League One is staggering; 64 goals scored in his last three League One seasons.
Sunderland will hope to land Grigg to push for promotion in the second half of the season, but it seems unlikely that Wigan would take just £250,000.
Owner Stewart Donald has at least denied that £200,000 was the bid, but £250,000 remains in the media – and one other League One club owner has had his say.
One Sunderland fan asked Peterborough’s Darragh MacAnthony what he thought of the alleged bid, with MacAnthony suggesting that the fee wouldn’t be fair even if Grigg was in the final months of his deal, believing that he is worth much, much more than that.
