Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has predicted on social networking site Twitter that Sunderland will win the League One title with ease this season.

Sunderland are second in the League One table at the moment with 13 points from five matches, just two points behind leaders Peterborough and level on points with Portsmouth and Walsall, who are third and fourth respectively in the standings.

MacAnthony has said on Twitter that he expects the Black Cats to wrap up the league title by the start of April.

Firm favourites

Sunderland are the biggest club in League One, and the Black Cats also have a very strong squad for the 2018-19 campaign.

With the summer transfer window still open, Jack Ross’s side could sign more players this month.

However, the Black Cats cannot be complacent, as it is a long season in League One and there will be upsets.

Peterborough, Portsmouth and Barnsley all will be determined to finish in the top two of League One this season, and will give Sunderland a run for their money.
