Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony suggests that Leeds United could finish in the top two of the Championship next season.

Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has predicted on social networking site Twitter that Leeds United could finish in the top two of the Championship next season.
Leeds have failed to end up in the playoffs this campaign and will remain in the second tier of English football for the 2017-18 campaign.
The West Yorkshire outfit have had a good season in spite of failing to clinch a playoff spot, but Garry Monk’s future at Elland Road is reportedly in doubt.

According to The Sun, Monk’s contract with Leeds will not be renewed. The Englishman was appointed the club’s head coach in the summer of 2016 on a one-year deal.
MacAnthony, chairman of League One club Peterborough, believes that Leeds could achieve automatic promotion to the Premier League at the end of the 2017-18 campaign.
The 41-year-old has also suggested on Twitter that Monk should be in charge of the Whites next season and should be backed in the summer transfer window.

Leeds will return to action on Sunday afternoon when they take on Wigan Athletic away from home at the DW Stadium in the Championship.
