Former Peterborough United winger George Boyd has joined Sheffield Wednesday after leaving Burnley in the summer transfer window.
Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has stated on social networking site Twitter that George Boyd will prove to be a good signing for Sheffield Wednesday.
Championship club Wednesday have signed Boyd on a free transfer following the winger’s release from Premier League outfit Burnley at the end of last month.
MacAnthony had the Scottish winger at Peterborough, and the chairman of the League One outfit has backed the former Hull City man to be a success for the Owls.

Boyd is a good winger, and the Scotsman could prove to be a key player for Wednesday during the 2017-18 campaign.
The Owls will be aiming to finish in the top six of the Championship next season, and a player of the former Burnley man’s experience and quality is certainly going to enhance their chances of claiming a playoff spot.
The former Peterborough winger scored two goals and provided one assist in 36 Premier League starts for Burnley during the 2016-17 campaign.
