Wolverhampton Wanderers beat Peterborough United 1-0 in pre-season action at the ABAX Stadium.

Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has hit back at Wolverhampton Wanderers fans, after accusations that Posh were being too aggressive in a friendly match last night.

Wolves travelled to take on Peterborough at the ABAX Stadium yesterday, and the match had a competitive edge for a friendly.

Indeed, in the first half in particular, some meaty challenges were put in by both sides.

And Wolves fans were aggravated by Peterborough players’ aggression.

Ryan Tafazolli launched into one notable tackle, which would have surely earned him a booking in a competitive game.

However, MacAnthony insists that Wolves players gave as good as they got.

In the end Wolves won the contest 1-0 thanks to a second-half goal from youngster Austin Samuels.

Samuels came off the bench to seal the winner with a nice finish after a swift counter attack which started from a Peterborough corner.

Wolves kick off their Championship campaign with a match against Middlesbrough in two weekends’ time.
