Peterborough United will not be signing the Reading centre-back.

Darragh MacAnthony has politely refused one Reading fan’s generous transfer offer on Twitter. @readingsince71 asked the Peterborough United owner if he would be interested in being paid to sign Paul McShane, but MacAnthony said no.
Peterborough sold Jack Baldwin to Sunderland in the regular transfer window, but are yet to replace the centre-back.
But despite boasting vast experience at Premier League, international and Championship level – where he continues to play regularly as Reading’s captain – McShane is not considered a viable option.
And his performance against Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday may have something to do with that.

The 32-year-old conceded two penalties as Reading surrendered a two-goal lead to draw at Ewood Park, with Charlie Mulgrew punishing both of McShane’s errors.
While Reading have failed to win any of their Championship fixtures this season – collecting one point out of 12 – Peterborough boast a 100 per cent record to top the League One table.
