Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has taken to Twitter to state that Rangers would be making a good move by signing striker Joe Garner.
Rangers may have signed Joe Dodoo from Leicester City this summer, but they’re set to add another forward with the imminent arrival of Preston star Garner.

The 28-year-old has become a fan favourite at Deepdale, partly thanks to his boyhood love for the Lilywhites as a lifelong fan, and partly thanks to his superb goalscoring record during the club’s time in League One.
After 24 goals in all competitions during the 2013/14 season, Garner then built on that with a superb 27 goals during the 2014/15 campaign, and that include almost three months out through injury.

The last 12 months have been much more difficult far Garner, as he scored just six goals in the Championship last term, adding to the notion that he’s great in League One, but not quite good enough for the second tier.
Garner has remained a cult hero at Deepdale despite his struggles last term, but now looks set to leave in order to join Rangers by the end of the week.
STV report that Garner will pen a three-year deal with Rangers after Mark Warburton’s men agreed a £1.5m fee with Preston, which would rise to £1.7m with various add-ons included.

With Rangers fans keen to know more about Garner, fans took to Twitter to ask Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony for his views on the player, having seen him first-hand in League One.
MacAnthony suggested that Garner was great in League One but has struggled higher up, though would be a good move for Rangers given that he’s a ‘talented player’.
