Nottingham Forest are said to have had a ‘polite conversation’ with Peterborough United director of football Barry Fry.
Darragh MacAnthony has claimed that Peterborough United received contact from Nottingham Forest on deadline day.
And the Peterborough owner added that it was one of his players who was the subject of the discussion between Posh director of football, Barry Fry, and the Championship club.
Nottingham Forest signed six new players and allowed as many as that to leave on a hectic final day of the January transfer window.
However, the Reds were unable to add anybody from Peterborough, whose key players Marcus Maddison, Jack Marriott and Ryan Tafazolli are among those reported to have had interest last month.
Asked on Twitter if his side had any dealings with Nottingham Forest, MacAnthony replied: “They did call Baz [Fry] yesterday for a chat funny enough[.]
Expanding on the above, he added: “[It] was a polite convo about one of ours etc. Normal stuff.”
In the end, Peterborough were able to strengthen their play-off chasing squad with the capture of Omar Bogle on loan from Cardiff City.
The former Grimsby Town striker scored 22 goals in 44 games last season, for both the Mariners and Wigan Athletic.
