Hobbs is yet to feature for Nottingham Forest this season.
Darragh MacAnthony says he would be interested in signing Nottingham Forest defender Jack Hobbs for Peterborough United, but admits they probably couldn’t afford him.
Hobbs is yet to feature for Forest this season and, according to one Twitter user, lives 15 minutes up the road from Peterborough, where MacAnthony is chairman.

Asked when Posh would be signing Hobbs, the Irishman replied via the social media site: “If he was free and not on 10 grand a week – sure thing.”
Hobbs, whose CV contains promotions with Leicester City and Hull City, last played for Forest in an FA Cup defeat to Watford in January this year, and the former Liverpool defender might have to grin and bear it, with his contract not expiring until 2018.

That said, a change of manager could perhaps improve his fortunes at the City Ground.
Peterborough are currently eighth in League One, but are only a point outside the play-off places.
A player of Hobbs’ calibre would perhaps improve most teams at that level, although Posh are currently well-stocked at centre-back, with Ryan Tafazolli, Jak Baldwin and Ricardo Santos all naturals there, with midfielder Michael Bostwick capable of filling in if required.
