Peterborough United Chairman Darragh MacAnthony

Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has admitted on Periscope that he wants to re-sign Tottenham Hotspur younger Luke McGee.

The 21-year-old goalkeeper enjoyed a season-long loan with Posh last term, managing 39 League One appearances.

And MacAnthony, speaking on a Periscope Q&A, that can be found on his Twitter account, is hopeful of bringing the 6’4 stopper back to London Road for a second spell next term.

He said: “We’ve tried to contact Tottenham because we’d like Luke back.

“We’ve done our best with what we’d like to do with Luke and Tottenham have been brilliant with us over the years, so we’re hoping we can do something.”

Hugo Lloris is one of the Premier League’s finest goalkeepers and McGee’s short-term prospects of displacing the France international seem bleak.

He was, however, named in two matchday squads by Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino last season – an unused substitute in games against Crystal Palace and Liverpool in August.

Michel Vorm was Pochettino’s primary number two last season, though the Dutchman managed just five Premier League outings.
