Mark Warburton has signed eight players for Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers this summer.
Speaking to The Glasgow Evening Times, Rangers defender Danny Wilson has admitted that he is aware his place as a first-team regular could be at risk this season.
The central defender helped Rangers win the Scottish Championship last season en route to winning promotion back to the Premiership for the first time in four years.
As a result, the Gers have signed no fewer than eight players this summer as manager Mark Warburton looks to build a squad capable of challenging the likes of Celtic for the title.
One of the eight is 6’4 defender Matt Crooks, while another centre-back is expected to be signed to compete with Wilson and Rob Kiernan in the heart of Rangers’ defence.
But the 24-year-old is under no illusions over the task of keeping his place in the side, noting that he must earn the right to start for Rangers and would not ask for time in which to prove himself.
“Expectations at this club mean you don’t get time. I wouldn’t ask for time either to improve,” he told The Glasgow Evening Times.
“We know that once we are back we have to be challenging for the title but I would not have it any other way.”
Oguchi Onyewu, who has 69 caps for the United States national team, was training with the club over the past two weeks, but the Daily Record reported that Warburton was unlikely to give him a new deal.
