Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers defender Danny Wilson has played just 19 times this season.
Glasgow Rangers defender Danny Wilson has told the Glasgow Evening Times that he has not played as much as he would have liked for the Ibrox side this season.
Wilson has not managed to force his way to become a regular starter at Rangers over the campaign to date.
The 25-year-old was regularly overlooked by Mark Warburton, even though injury has also curtailed his progress.
And Wilson now claims that he is hoping that Pedro Caixinha picks him more regularly at Rangers.
“There have been times this season where I have been fit but due to the form of other players I haven’t been able to get in the team,” the centre-back said.
“Hopefully now I can get a run and show the manager what I can do.
“It is easy enough to say there is a clean slate for everybody but it doesn’t always work out that way.
“All I can do is try and impress the manager in training and make the most of my opportunities when I play games. Hopefully he likes what I can bring to the team.”
Wilson has started in three of the four matches which Rangers have played under Caixinha’s stewardship so far.
The powerful defender has helped Rangers keep clean sheets in every one of the matches he has played since the Portuguese boss took charge.
Wilson now looks set to play an important role for Rangers over the rest of the season.
Rangers are next in action on Saturday, when they take on Partick at Ibrox.
