Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers lost for the first time in domestic matches this season at the weekend.

Glasgow Rangers defender Danny Wilson has told the Daily Record that Pedro Caixinha’s usage of him so far has been ‘unusual’.

Wilson has featured in all three of Rangers’ matches so far this term, but only as a substitute.

The centre-back has often been thrown into Rangers’ defensive line, to help Caixinha’s side see out the game.

And Wilson admits that he is not used to coming on as a late substitute, as most managers want to keep their back line settled.

“Unusually for a defender I’ve come on in the first three games of the season as a substitute,” Wilson said.

“It’s not the ideal position for me as I would obviously prefer to start but I have to give respect to the two guys who are playing.

“They are in possession of the jersey and it’s up to me to try and move them and I’ll do everything I can on a daily basis to do so.”

Rangers started the campaign by winning their first two domestic matches, but Caixinha’s side were beaten by Hibernian at the weekend.

Rangers had taken the lead in the contest, but Hibs managed to turn things around.

A red card for Ryan Jack ultimately proved decisive, as the Ibrox side slipped to defeat in front of an expectant home crowd.

The pressure will now be on Rangers to bounce back from this disappointment, with their next match coming against Hearts at the weekend.
