Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose struggled during England’s match against Belgium yesterday.

Danny Rose’s latest performance for England should concern Tottenham Hotspur fans, as it showed just how far short of his best the left-back is.

Rose established a reputation for himself as the Premier League’s top left-back during the 2016/17 campaign.

Rose’s performances at Tottenham were hugely impressive, with his pace making him a huge threat down the left-hand side.

However, Rose struggled with injury throughout the entirety of last campaign, and he looks miles short of his best now.

Rose never truly nailed down a spot in Tottenham’s first-team, with Ben Davies moving ahead of him in Mauricio Pochettino’s selection order.

And Rose’s display for England last night proved just how far short of match-fitness he is.

Rose may have shown glimpses of quality, but he was at fault for the goal Belgium scored, as he failed to show Adnan Januzaj on the outside and allowed the former Manchester United man to bend in a shot.

Rose seems to have a huge amount of work to do to get back to his best, and Spurs fans may be forgiven for wondering if he will ever show the form he did in the 2016/17 season again.
