One Tottenham Hotspur player in particular has had a few months to remember for the right reasons.
What a funny few months it has been for Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose.
Once a figure of fun at White Hart Lane, regularly criticised for his below-par performances, now the 24-year-old is said to have attracted interest from Manchester City and Atletico Madrid, according to a report in the Mirror.
And those links are not undeserved, with Rose impressing for Mauricio Pochettino’s side and looking a considerably better option than summer signing Ben Davies.
It all seemed so different at the start of the campaign, when Davies was signed from Swansea City and looked every inch a Tottenham starter following 85 senior appearances for the Swans.
Instead the 22-year-old has struggled for game-time and form, while Rose has blossomed into a fine left-back with a reportedly growing list of suitors.
In hindsight it seems it was too early to judge Rose last season, but at the same time this is no typical transformation.
The 24-year-old has taken his weaknesses and worked on them considerably, to such an extent that the former Sunderland loanee is now head-and-shoulders above Davies in the fight for a starting spot.
It was always going to be that way for a player who only fairly recently switched to the full-back position, but this has not been a transformation a year in the making. Things have changed rapidly for Rose, in just a few short months. And despite those transfer links, you can rest assured Tottenham will not be selling him any time soon.
