England beat Germany 3-2 on Saturday night, with Danny Rose playing a bit part.
Tottenham Hotspur left back Danny Rose has told The Mirror that team-mate Eric Dier encouraged him to continue his club form before he made his England debut on Saturday.
The Three Lions fell 2-0 down at the Olympiastadion in Berlin, as Toni Kroos and Mario Gomez struck to put the world champions in cruise control before a stunning England fightback.
Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy pulled England level, before Tottenham ace Dier thumped home a header to win the game in stoppage time for Roy Hodgson’s side.
It was a remarkable comeback from England ahead of Euro 2016, and the game also saw left back Danny Rose make his international debut after a superb season for Tottenham.
The 25-year-old impressed at left back and now looks to be in pole position to start Euro 2016 as England’s first-choice left back, ahead of players like Ryan Bertrand and Leighton Baines.
Tottenham players dominated the game, and Rose admitted to The Mirror after the game that Spurs team-mate Eric Dier gave him words of advice ahead of kick-off on Saturday.
Rose revealed that Dier told him to simply continue his club form onto the international stage – and the left back added that Dier should score more goals after his fine header for the winning goal against Germany.
“I have seen Eric do it a lot of times at club level and he should score a lot more than he has,” said Rose. “It was a great ball from Jordan Henderson and I’m not surprised he was on the end of it.”
“I’d spoken to Eric a couple of times and he’s told me to take my club form into tonight and given me a lot of encouragement,” he added.
