The England and Tottenham left-back is confident in his side’s ability to threaten the top spot.

Tottenham Hotspur left-back Danny Rose has made his feelings clear on the suggestion that Spurs need to win the league this season if they are to win it in the near future.
Spurs finished third in the Premier League last season, but pushed Leicester City all the way in the race to win the title.
The club are currently playing some of their best football in a generation under Mauricio Pochettino and with the league so competitive this season there is certainly scope for any of the top teams to emerge victorious.

But Rose does not believe this is their last chance to claim the title. He pointed out Spurs’ recent win against Manchester City to highlight their ability – telling Sky Sports:
“I don’t agree with the claim this is our last chance to win the league for a while, if you see what we did to Man City it shows we can still mix it with the best teams in the league.
“We’ve given ourselves a great platform to push on this season.”

He also commented on their start to the new season. Despite the side having a great start and remaining unbeaten in the Premier League so far he suggested they had still not yet his top gear:
“As a team we’ve not quite hit the heights of last season.
“I’d say we’re still in third gear and there’s still a lot more to come from us.”
Spurs’ take on Leicester in the Premier League today – perhaps looking for some semblance of revenge after losing out in the title race last term.
Rose seems determined that Tottenham will not be treating last season as a one-time surge.
