Danny Rose has been at Tottenham Hotspur since 2007.
Danny Rose has revealed to Tottenham Hotspur’s official website that he would love to finish his career at White Hart Lane.
The 26-year-old is Spurs’ longest serving player after joining from Leeds United as a teenager, and is now into his 10th season as a Tottenham man.
Under Mauricio Pochettino, Rose has developed into one of the best left-backs in the business, and the England international – who has made 126 appearances for the Lilywhites – says that he plans to finish his career with the club.
“I’m 26 now and starting to think about if I want to finish my career here and I’d love to do that,” Rose told the club’s official website. “There won’t be many players able to say that they’ve been at a club for X amount of years.
“I’d love to be able to look back at the end of my career and think I’d been at a club for the whole of my career. That’s the plan.
“You don’t know what will happen in football but that’s the plan, I want to be here for a long, long time and I hope while I’m here I get to win trophies as well.”
Tottenham fans will love the defender for his verbal pledge, but as Rose said, things can change very quickly in football.
Given that he is one of the best left-backs around, it would not be beyond the realms of possibility for a bigger club to come in for him next summer and give him something to think about.
He admitted that he harbours ambitions to win trophies, and if that is more probable elsewhere then of course he will be tempted by joining a bigger side.
For the moment, though, Rose seems content with life at Spurs, and if they can kick on from their third-placed finish last term, coupled with a good Champions League run, then it would go a long way toward reiterating his commitment to the Tottenham cause.
