Tottenham Hotspur are still in with a chance of winning the Champions League this season.
Tottenham ace Danny Rose spoke to reporters after last night’s win over Brighton, and insisted that he will not make the same mistake again when asked what his team can achieve this season, as quoted by the Independent.
Spurs currently sit in third spot in the Premier League table, and they seem destined to qualify for the Champions League for the fourth consecutive season.
It was only two months ago, however, when they were right in the mix in the race for the Premier League title, before they collapsed, taking just one point from a five game period.
Rose suggested in February that Tottenham were right in the mix to win the league, and the rest is history.
And this time, the Spurs left-back insisted that he will not be making the same mistake again, as quoted by the Independent:
“I fell into this trap, saying what we could achieve two months ago when we were in the mix with Liverpool and City. I thought we were right in there. I don’t want to fall into that trap again. I’d rather keep it in the dressing room. We know what we’re capable of.”
Tottenham can still enjoy a successful campaign this season.
They will most likely finish inside the top four, and have a Champions League semi-final to look forward to, so if they finish strongly, they are well capable of ending their 11-year wait for a major trophy.
