The Spurs left-back made his first appearance since critical interview in 1-1 draw with Real Madrid.

Danny Rose has admitted to The London Evening Standard that he is relieved to still have the backing of the Tottenham Hotspur fans after making his return in last night’s Champions League draw with Real Madrid.
The England left-back risked backlash from Spurs supporters when he questioned the ambition of the club and angled for a substantial pay rise in a summer interview with The Sun.
Rose was made to wait to see how those comments had gone down due to a knee injury sidelining him for the start of the season, and was grateful to get a good reception when he came on as a late substitute at the Bernabeu.

“My opinions will be voiced in a different way from now on. I’ve been disciplined and we move forward together as a club,” he is quoted as saying by the London Evening Standard.
“I did what I did. I was expecting a frosty reception from the fans so I just have to say thank you to them for giving me a great reception when I came on and when I was training on the pitch after the game.
“I’m trying to look forward now for the rest of the season. First and foremost I have to try to win my shirt back. [What I said has] gone now, my manager [Mauricio Pochettino] has forgotten about it and we all move forward and we try to win this club a trophy.”

The London Evening Standard reports that the 4,000 travelling contingent of Spurs fans chanted Rose’s name as he replaced Fernando Llorente on 80 minutes to help his side close out a famous result.
It was Rose’s first appearance since damaging knee ligaments in a 0-0 draw with Sunderland.
The eight months since has been a rollercoaster, but it seems that Rose and Spurs are back on the right track.
