A report suggested that Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose was left furious with Mauricio Pochettino.

A report from The Sun earlier this week suggested that the left-back had been left furious with Pochettino’s decision to leave him out of the Spurs squad for their trip to the Emirates at the weekend – with the manager reportedly feeling that the left-back was not fit enough for the game.

The Sun reported that there had been talk of a bust-up between the pair with Rose confident that he was ready for the game. But after playing well in Tottenham’s win over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday night, Rose insisted that the talk of a rift between the pair is wide of the mark, and his anger was due to the fact that he was missing the derby.
“There was no falling out, there was no argument, there was no bust-up,” he told Sky Sports.
“I was fuming, yes, but any player should be unhappy that they’re not involved in the biggest game of the season. But no falling out, no bust-up. I trained on Saturday and it looked like the right decision from the manager.”

The fact that Rose has put any talk of a rift with Pochettino to bed and even praised the Tottenham boss’ decision to leave him out in hindsight somewhat, is arguably a major statement from the defender.
There appears to be something of a question mark surrounding Rose’s future following an interview he gave to The Sun in the summer. And while it would be a major leap to suggest that his latest comments tell us anything particularly significant about his future – it surely dismisses any suggestion that a transfer away from Spurs is anymore more inevitable than it was before Pochettino made his selection decision for the derby.
