The Tottenham Hotspur left-back admitted it has been crazy how his team have fallen out of contention in the race for the Premier League title.
Tottenham ace Danny Rose spoke to reporters whilst away on international duty with England, and suggested that it is ‘crazy’ how his team now sit just three points clear of fifth placed Manchester United, as quoted by Sky Sports.
Spurs currently sit in third spot in the Premier League table on 61 points, one point clear of fourth placed Arsenal, three in front of fifth placed Manchester United and four ahead of sixth placed Chelsea.
Things were so very different for Tottenham just a few weeks ago, however, when they could of closed the gap on the league leaders Liverpool at the time to just two points, had they beaten Burnley away.
That failed to materialise, and Spurs embarked on an awful run, taking just one point from four Premier League games.
And Rose told reporters how Tottenham are now in a really tricky position, with so many tough games still to come, as quoted by Sky Sports:
“It’s just crazy. Three weeks ago we were 10 clear of Arsenal and it’s just funny how a week in football can seem like it lasts forever, especially when you are on the back of two defeats and fighting for a draw against Arsenal. The season is obviously not how it was looking three weeks ago, especially when you have got to travel to City and travel to Anfield. And as well as that there are no easy games in the league. We know what’s at stake.”
Tottenham return to action on March 31st with a tough-looking trip to Anfield to take on Liverpool, and nothing less than a win will do, if they are to keep distance between themselves and those below them in the table.
