Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose has told Yahoo! Sport that he does not envy Kyle Walker moving to Manchester City in the summer transfer window.

Walker left Tottenham for Premier League rivals City in the summer of 2017 for an initial transfer fee of £45 million, as reported by BBC Sport.

The 27-year-old right-back has established himself as a key figure in the City team and is likely to end up winning the Premier League title with the Citizens this season.

According to The Daily Mail, the England international defender is earning £130,000 per week as salary at City.

Spurs left-back Rose played with Walker at White Hart Lane, but the 27-year-old England international is not envious of the former Sheffield United defender.

Rose will come up against Walker on Saturday evening, when City take on Tottenham at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League.

“There’s no envy,” Rose told Yahoo! Sport about facing Walker. “He fully deserved his move. Over the last two to three years he’s been the best right-back in the league. His assists and performances prove that.

“He’s got what he deserves and I wish him the best of luck in every game that he plays, apart from when he plays against us.

“Of course it will be nice to see him and play against him if I’m selected. But he’s the enemy this weekend and there’ll be no pleasantries until after the game.”

Rose has only just returned from a long-term injury and is not guaranteed a place in the Spurs starting lineup at the moment.
