Tottenham star feels his teammates should have to fight for their positions.
Among the more notable lines were Rose’s barbed comments that his teammates should have to fight harder for their places.
Rose competes with Ben Davies for his spot at left-back, and feels his colleagues must be pushed harder.

He said: “I have competition for my place but why shouldn’t everyone have competition for their places?
“Top-class competition where, if you have two average games, you might lose your place. I have that and I don’t see why anyone else shouldn’t.
“I want world-class players to come through the front door to make you fight for your place.”

Rose’s comments are understandable in one regard. He is determined to make Tottenham a better club and hopes that by forcing the issue he will make them stronger.
The timing however is off, coming just three days before the club’s season begins.
It is up to Tottenham’s team to show they can be galvanised by Rose’s comments, with the defender injured for the league opener.
Chairman Daniel Levy will not be able to ignore the England international’s outburst – and the pressure is on him to deliver the big names before the transfer window closes.
