Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose has told The Telegraph that he is looking forward to seeing Spurs land some ‘good recruits’ this summer.

Spurs have again secured a top four finish, finishing third in the Premier League table to book their spot in next season’s Champions League, ahead of what is a huge summer.

Tottenham will be moving into their new stadium this summer, and whilst fans are hoping for big signings, keeping big-name players out of the clutches of Premier League rivals will also be key.

One player linked with a move away is Danny Rose, who was key for Pochettino until his injury in January 2017 and his controversial comments to The Sun last summer.

Rose offered outspoken comments about the club’s transfer policy, suggesting that they needed big-name players that he didn’t have to Google upon being brought to North London.

The left back has been in and out of the Spurs side this season, with many believing that the comments frustrated Pochettino, who has made Ben Davies his first-choice left back this season instead.

Now, almost a year one from those comments, Rose has been speaking about Tottenham’s transfer plans again, this time suggesting to The Telegraph that it’s good to see Pochettino call for backing from chairman Daniel Levy, and admitted that he is looking forward to ‘good recruits’ arriving in an altogether much more positive outlook from the England international.

“It is good that the manager has come out and said that,” said Rose. “I hope the manager, his coaching staff, the recruitment staff and the chairman can all come together and give the manager what he wants. I am fully behind whatever happens in the off-season, I hope we get some good recruits to help us push on and as the manager said the next step is to try and hopefully win something this year,” he added.
