Tottenham Hotspur will face Arsenal in the North London derby at White Hart Lane this weekend.
Danny Murphy has suggested in The London Evening Standard that Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama will be key players for Tottenham Hotspur against Arsenal this weekend.
Tottenham will take on North London rivals Arsenal at White Hart Lane in the Premier League on Sunday evening.
Former Spurs midfielder Murphy has suggested that the Gunners would have problems dealing with midfielders Dembele and Wanyama.
“Even though Arsenal have won their last three matches in all competitions, reaching the FA Cup Final in the process, it will be hard for them to get any more than a point at White Hart Lane, especially if Mousa Dembele recovers from the knock he took to his ankle in the 1-0 win at Crystal Palace,” Murphy wrote in The London Evening Standard.
“Arsenal have pace and ability, but I fear Tottenham’s athleticism in shape of Victor Wanyama in central midfield will be too much for them.”
Wanyama joined Tottenham from Premier League rivals Southampton in the summer of 2016 for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £11 million.
The Kenya international defensive midfielder has been a superb addition to the current Tottenham team and has established himself in the starting lineup.
The 25-year-old will be a key player for Spurs in the North London derby against Arsenal, and so will be Mousa Dembele, if he is fit.
The 29-year-old midfielder is one of the best players in the current Tottenham team and has been playing well this season.
As announced on Tottenham’s official Twitter page, Dembele is an injury concern ahead of the game against Arsenal.
If the Belgium international does play against the Gunners, then it is going to be hard for Arsene Wenger’s side to earn even a point from the encounter.
