Celtic have several issues to deal with now the summer transfer window is open.
Last summer, and even back in January, there was a lot of negative talk about the transfer business conducted by the club.
Yes, Brendan Rodgers delivered the title and beat Rangers in the Scottish Cup final, but it was never that easy for Celtic and it was largely their own fault.
There were a number of iffy performances throughout the campaign, including fans calling for the board’s head during the defeat to Hearts over the winter.
That’s why it’s going to be interesting to see what road the club goes down this summer and just how ambitious they are in the transfer market.
Euro 2024 is underway in Germany and you feel if a transfer target of yours performs, then his value will only increase.
But, for Celtic, they are keen on Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, who had a game to forget as Ukraine suffered a 3-0 loss to Romania in their opening match.
Danny Murphy stated that he made a ‘really bad mistake’ for both the opening goal and the second goal he conceded, as he told Match of the Day on BBC One.
For large parts of the previous campaign, Lunin was in goal for Real Madrid, including playing a key role in their Champions League triumph.
However, on another big stage, he has found life very difficult, but Murphy has still backed the 25-year-old to come good and be the ‘hero’ in the next game.
Celtic transfer target Andriy Lunin at Euro 2024
“It’s a really bad mistake,” said Murphy. “He sees it (Romania’s second goal) and he misjudges the bounce. It happens and, unfortunately, he has made two mistakes. We know he is a quality goalkeeper.
“But when you are playing for your country, it’s going to be highlighted even more. It was nice to see some of his teammates trying to console him at the end. Football changes on goals and goalkeepers, unfortunately, when they mistakes, we know, and the ball is in the net. 99 out of 100, he saves that.
“He could be the hero in the next game. He is more than capable. He is picked for a reason. We know his quality. And in tight games with the ones they have coming up. He could be the hero.”

Celtic searching for a Joe Hart replacement
Joe Hart has now officially retired and Celtic are looking for his replacement, with many thinking that the Englishman should have carried on and is making a mistake by hanging up his gloves.
But Rodgers has to target a new keeper and you feel, at a minimum, he needs to have the ability to play the ball out from the back.

Lunin is a man on Celtic’s transfer wishlist (Daily Record) and it’s going to be interesting to see what happens when Euro 2024 concludes.
It wouldn’t be a surprise if certain deals are slow to get going during the next month because players are still on national duty and then everything might just explode.
