West Ham United signed Javier Hernandez from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer transfer window.
West Ham have signed former Manchester United striker Hernandez from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer transfer window for a fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth 16 million.
Hernandez knows the Premier League inside out, having been on the books of United from 2010 until 2015.
During his time at Old Trafford, the Mexico international played mostly as a substitute, but the 29-year-old still scored goals.
The striker played quite regularly for Bayer in Germany for the past two seasons and was a hit in the Bundesliga.

During the 2015-16 campaign, Hernandez scored 17 goals and provided two assists in 25 starts in the Bundesliga for Bayer, according to WhoScored.
The former Guadalajara star scored 11 goals and provided three assists in 20 Bundesliga starts for Bayer in 2017-18, according to WhoScored.
Former Tottenham and Liverpool midfielder Murphy has praised Hernandez, revealing that he has heard only good things about him.
Murphy, though, has stated that at the age of 29, the striker is unlikely to get any better.

“I have heard only good things about Javier Hernandez when I have spoken to people who have played with him,” Murphy wrote in The London Evening Standard before West Ham’s Premier League game against Manchester United at Old Trafford at the weekend.
“I am told he is obsessed with improving his game. He works at least as hard as everyone else and has a great ability to find scoring positions.
“He will get goals for West Ham — and you have to pay good money for that, even though, at 29, Hernandez is unlikely to get any better.”
West Ham kicked off their 2017-18 Premier League campaign with a 4-0 defeat to Manchester United away from home at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
