The former Spurs star believes the club’s style is allowing Alli to thrive.
Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Danny Murphy has told the club’s official website that life at White Hart Lane suits Dele Alli perfectly.
Alli has been the undoubted break-out star of the last 18 months or so at Spurs, scoring 20 goals in 52 Premier League appearances since his debut for the club at the start of the 2015-16 season.
The 2016 PFA Young Player of the Year has been the driving force behind his side’s good form in recent weeks, finding the net seven times across the last four league games.
Unsurprisingly, there has been much talk about a potential move to a top European club for the 20-year-old over the last year or so as Alli has blossomed into one of football’s top young talents.

However, Murphy seems to think that Tottenham are the perfect club for the young star to thrive because of their ethos and playing style.
Murphy told the club’s website: “First of all, he’s playing with a maturity beyond his years. In terms of his ability, he’s a super athlete, tall, quick, looks like he can run all day but matched with that, technically he’s very good as well. His biggest quality on the pitch, for me, is the timing of his runs. He is exceptional at that and that is what gets him into the positions to score the goals. He knows when to go and he finds space, that’s his biggest quality.
“He’s ahead of his time in terms of football maturity and game intelligence. He now has to make sure that he continues to learn from the coaches at Spurs – he’s clearly learned a lot from Mauricio Pochettino – and he needs to maintain his discipline and desire. There is no end to how far he can go with his ability.

“The Tottenham style really suits him as well and the quality of players around him has helped him. For example, in the Chelsea game, he scored both goals, both great headers, but the crosses in from Christian Eriksen were wonderful. You need that quality around you as well. He has a great partnership with Harry Kane and Spurs have one of the best, if not the best, back fours in the Premier League, plus the likes of Dembele and Wanyama. Everything suits him at the moment and I think he’s done remarkably well.”
Spurs fans will certainly be hoping that Alli is of the same opinion as Murphy and sees the club as the perfect place to further his development.
The midfielder is vital to what Pochettino is trying to create at White Hart Lane and is a driving force behind the club’s push to be genuine title challengers.
