The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder is widely considered to be one of the best in the business.

Danny Murphy smiles during the Fulham press conference ahead of the UEFA Europa League final match against Atletico Madrid at HSH Nordbank Arena on May 11, 2010 in Hamburg, Germany.

Ex-Tottenham star Danny Murphy spoke exclusively to bwin, and raved about the quality of Belgian ace Mousa Dembele, suggesting that Chelsea’s Jorginho and Liverpool’s Fabinho are not in the same league as the Spurs midfielder.

The 31-year-old joined Tottenham from Fulham in the summer of 2012, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £15 million, and he has gone on to become one of his club’s most important players.

He possesses a totally unique style of play, and makes such a huge difference for the north London outfit when he is playing.

Dembele’s future at Spurs is uncertain, however, with his current contract set to expire in the summer of 2019.

Losing the Belgium international would undoubtedly be a big blow for Tottenham, a notion that Murphy obviously agrees with.

The former Spurs midfielder offered high words of praise for Dembele, when speaking exclusively to bwin, suggesting that he is better than two of the Premier League’s big money summer arrivals:

“It’s very difficult for Tottenham to improve on what they already have. To improve on the players they have, it would cost a lot of money and they’d also be competing against rival clubs who can afford to pay a lot more. Chelsea have just splashed out on Jorginho, but he wouldn’t get in Tottenham’s team ahead of [Mousa] Dembele. Liverpool have spent the money on Fabinho, but I’m not convinced he’s better than Dembele either. It’s near impossible to find world-class players who aren’t on the radar of the other big teams but who would be happy to sit on the bench to improve the squad at Tottenham.”

Whilst Dembele is obviously a fantastic footballer, Murphy’s claim that he is better than both Jorginho and Fabinho could very well be seen as controversial, especially considering the fact that the Belgian is arguably already past his best.
