Tottenham signed defender Aurier from Paris Saint-Germain on transfer deadline day.

According to BBC Sport, the Premier League club had to pay the French outfit a transfer fee of £23 million in order to secure the services of the right-back.

Former Liverpool and Tottenham midfielder Murphy has suggested that Aurier will be a success in the Premier League.

“I also like the look of Serge Aurier,” Murphy wrote in The London Evening Standard. “He has been a decent full-back and is an excellent athlete, so he should be able to cope with the physical side of English football.”

Aurier is a very good right-back who has experience of playing in the Champions League.

The former Toulouse star may not be as good as Kyle Walker yet, but the 24-year-old should be able to compete with Kieran Trippier for the right-back spot in the Tottenham starting lineup.

Tottenham finished second in the Premier League last season and will be aiming to win the league title in 2017-18.
