The Tottenham Hotspur attacker has been excellent this season.

Danny Murphy smiles during the Fulham press conference ahead of the UEFA Europa League final match against Atletico Madrid at HSH Nordbank Arena on May 11, 2010 in Hamburg, Germany.

Danny Murphy was a guest on Sky Sports’ The Debate programme last night, and he raved about the quality of Tottenham ace Heung-Min Son, labelling the South Korean as an unbelievable player.

The 26-year-old has been in fine form for Spurs this season, racking up 18 goals and nine assists in 40 appearances in all competitions thus far, and he will be heavily relied upon over the next few weeks and months, with Harry Kane set for a prolonged spell on the sidelines.

Son joined Tottenham from Bayer Leverkusen for £18 million in 2015, according to the Telegraph, and has firmly established himself as one of the Premier League’s best attackers over the past 18 months.

He is more than capable of filling in for Kane, and Murphy backed the pacey front-man to rise to the occasion for Spurs over the next couple of months, when speaking during a guest appearance on Sky Sports’ The Debate programme last night:

“There’s two or three times he’s stepped in and their win ratio has gone up. Son has wonderful attributes to play as a striker. His energy is unbelievable. He can run in behind, he can link the play. He’s not quite the finisher Kane is but he’s not a bad substitution to have in that position.”

Next up for Tottenham is a home game against Huddersfield Town on Saturday, before they travel to the Etihad for the second-leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash with Manchester City four days later, and those two matches could end up defining their season.
