Christian Eriksen is an important player for Tottenham Hotspur.
Eriksen has been on the books of Tottenham since the summer of 2013 when he joined from Ajax for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £11.5 million.
The Denmark international attacking midfielder is one of the best and most creative players in Europe and has been consistently well for Spurs for a number of years.
Former Tottenham midfielder Murphy believes that Eriksen could jump at the chance of moving to a bigger club.
Murphy told Bwin.com when asked if Eriksen could make the move to a top European club: “I think Eriksen could well be looking to move on from Tottenham to join the likes of Real Madrid or Barcelona, I think he is a player that could have his head turned and would jump at the chance to go.
“The problem for him is that I’m not sure he would get the playing time at a top European club.
“He’s a creative player who has performed very well for the last couple of years, but I don’t see him getting in at Barcelona ahead of the likes of [Philippe] Coutinho.”
Keeping hold of Christian Eriksen
Eriksen is at the right age to move to a big European club such as Barcelona, Real Madrid or Bayern Munich, but it is important that Tottenham keep hold of the 26-year-old beyond next summer.
While Harry Kane and Dele Alli often take the headlines, Eriksen is arguably the most talented footballer on the books of Tottenham.
The Dane has provided two assists in six Premier League starts for Tottenham so far this season, according to WhoScored.
