Manchester United’s Marouane Fellaini is reportedly set to move to China & Danny Murphy believes Newcastle United should sign him
Danny Murphy has astonishingly claimed that Marouane Fellaini would keep Newcastle United in the Premier League playing up front with Salomon Rondon.
BBC Sport claim that the Manchester United midfielder is set to leave Old Trafford after agreeing terms with Chinese Super League club Shandong Luneng.
The powerful player earns £100k-a-week at United, according to Sportac as he could now be heading out of the Premier League.
But former Liverpool man Murphy claimed that the Belgium international should have joined the Magpies instead because he would do a job for them upfront.
“He [Fellaini] would do alright at Newcastle,” Murphy told Jim White on talkSPORT on 29/01/2019 “Him and Rondon up front at Newcastle. Go route one. Go long and get the ball in the box. They are staying up then.
“Imagine Fellaini and Rondon playing up front?!”
During his career in England, Fellaini has represented both Everton and Manchester United, winning the FA Cup, League Cup and the Europa League.
Overall, he played 260 Premier League matches, scoring 37 goals and supplying 25 assists for his teammates.
As for Newcastle, they are on the verge of breaking their transfer record, with Sky Sports reporting that Atlanta United midfielder Miguel Almiron is currently on Tyneside.
The 24-year-old goalscoring midfielder, who has plied his trade in Argentina, Paraguay and the USA, will be playing in Europe for the first time in his career.
