Leeds United are back in the Premier League after a 16-year exile, having enjoyed quite the weekend.

On Friday evening, Leeds were promoted after West Bromwich Albion’s defeat at Huddersfield Town, and less than 24 hours later, Leeds were crowned champions with Brentford losing at Stoke City.

Leeds then beat Derby County 3-1 on Sunday, marking their title win in style as fans and players celebrated wildly.

The onus will quickly turn to the transfer market, and Leeds will surely be a very attractive club for many players this summer.

Now, pundit Danny Murphy has told the Daily Mail that he thinks Leeds need to add some Premier League know-how to their young squad.

Murphy named two players that should be on the Leeds radar; out-of-contract Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana, and Tottenham left back Danny Rose.

“Leeds have a terrific crop of young players headed by Kalvin Phillips,” said Murphy. “Jack Harrison and Ben White have excelled on loan and hopefully Leeds can keep them. But the top flight is unforgiving and those young lads will need calm heads around them during the difficult times.”

“Adam Lallana, out of contract at Liverpool, would be perfect. Great energy, good footballer, good attitude. Danny Rose is a Leeds boy. He’s been a top left-back for a long time. Maybe he’ll want to go home,” he added.

Lallana is likely to have major Premier League offers this summer, but as a skilful playmaker who impressed in a high-pressing system at Liverpool, he could fit the bill for Leeds too.

Rose was on the Leeds books as a kid, but a move to Elland Road seems unlikely with Newcastle United likely to pursue a permanent deal for their loanee, meaning Leeds would have plenty of ground to make up.
