Will Leeds United be active in the transfer window? Danny Mills hopes so.

Danny Mills has suggested to LUTV that Leeds United boss Garry Monk should bring senior players into the club during the January transfer window.

Leeds are fifth in the Championship but it remains to be seen whether Whites will finish in the playoff positions, or perhaps even in the automatic promotion spots, come May.

Monk’s side are 10 points behind second-placed Brighton but the prospect of finishing somewhere within the top six seems very possible.

The former Swansea City boss brought 12 players to West Yorkshire during the summer but Pablo Hernandez – who joined on a six-month loan – is the only outfield over the age of 30 to join the club.

“Garry’s got a great chance [of promotion] now,” Mills, who spent five years at Leeds until 2004, told LUTV.

“Young squad and hopefully he’ll add to that with a couple of senior players maybe in the transfer window, couple of loan deals to push on and hopefully make the playoffs.”

Only two points separate Leeds from Derby back in seventh and experience could be key if the Elland Road club are to at least finish in the playoff spots.

Monk has plenty of young players at his disposal, and they’ve all done brilliantly – particularly Ronaldo Vieira and Kalvin Phillips – but a few senior heads could be a huge boost for United’s hopes of finishing in the top six.
