Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino and Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola have previously lauded Leeds United’s Marcelo Bielsa.
Danny Mills has urged Leeds United’s Marcelo Bielsa to ‘borrow two or three’ young players from Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City this summer.
The former England defender pointed to the fact that Pochettino and Guardiola greatly admire the Leeds man and he should use that relationship to sign a few of their players.
Tottenham have proven under Pochettino that they have a number of high-quality youngsters coming through the system. Whereas, City are trying their best to build one of the best academies.
Speaking to Drivetime on TalkSport (22/05/2019 at 6:00 pm), Mills urged Bielsa to add to the Leeds squad by signing some youngsters from Spurs and the Premier League champions.
“I still think he’s [Radrizzani] looking to sell the club,” Mills told TalkSport. “The club is now in a stable position. It’s in a lot better position than when I left.
“What Bielsa has done with a team that finished midtable last season, with no budget whatsoever is incredible. I think he needs to go to Guardiola and Pochettino, who think he’s the messiah and just borrow two or three of those young players that aren’t in and around the first team squad and allow them to come to Leeds.”
After falling short of the play-off finals this season and just weeks before missing out on automatic promotion, Leeds will be eager to put things right next term.
Keeping Bielsa will be key to their success, but providing him with funds to add to the squad could potentially be a game-changer if it happens.
If he can add a couple of players from Spurs and the Premier League champions to his squad then it’ll no doubt improve his chances of taking Leeds back to the Premier League.
