Leeds United secured a season-long loan deal for Ben White from Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer.
Danny Mills has claimed that big clubs will be coming in for the signature of Leeds United defender Ben White at the end of the season.
The Sky Sports pundit thinks that Leeds will find it difficult hanging onto the centre-back, who is on a season-long loan from Premier League side Brighton.
Despite joining Leeds with big pressures on his shoulders, White has seemingly taken to his role in Yorkshire with ease.
Speaking to Football Centre on Sky Sports (29/10/19 at 10:55 am), former England defender Mills thinks that the big clubs will be fishing for White’s signature.
“He has been outstanding,” Mills told Sky Sports. “I have seen him several times this season live. When he first came in, he looks outstanding.
“He has had experience out on-loan last season, but what I like about him is that he can play [out from the back]. He is a very, very good player on the ball, but he is also a very, very good defender. He is prepared to put his head in and he is prepared to put his foot in. Prepared to make tackles as well
“This season, the way that he is playing, Leeds’ biggest problem next season will be hanging onto him because I wouldn’t be surprised if there are some big clubs looking for his signature come the end of the season.”
Whilst someone like Kalvin Phillips is perhaps the main man at Leeds, and someone who could play in the Premier League today, he isn’t the only one now who is showcasing that ability to play in the top-flight.
If Leeds don’t earn promotion to the Premier League in May then they will do very well to bring back a player like White, and it could even be argued that they may even lose someone like Phillips.
But the best thing for Leeds is that he is a boyhood fan and he has shown loyalty to the club, but with his qualities, he’ll need to test himself in England’s top-flight one day.
