Danny Mills suggested on Sky Sports Main Event on Saturday (2:40pm, August 10, 2019) that Leeds United are over-reliant on Pablo Hernandez.

The former Leeds right-back made the comments following the Whites’ 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest at Elland Road in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.

Hernandez, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger and is one of the most creative players in the Championship, scored for the home team in the 59th minute.

However, the 34-year-old did not have a great overall game for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

The former Swansea City and Valencia star took three shots, had a pass accuracy of 72.7%, made one tackle, and attempted three dribbles, according to WhoScored.

Mills believes that Leeds are too reliant on Hernandez, who scored 12 goals and providing 12 assists in 41 Championship appearances for the Whites last season, and scored seven goals and provided eight assists in 4 league fixtures for the West Yorkshire outfit during the 2018-19 campaign, according to WhoScored.

Leeds United's Pablo Hernandez scores the opening goal during the Sky Bet Championship match between Leeds United and Nottingham Forest at Elland Road on August 10, 2019 in Leeds, England.

Mills said on Sky Sports Main Event on Saturday (2:40pm, August 10, 2019): “Pablo Hernandez scored a great goal, but he wasn’t in the game an awful lot apart from that and that’s Leeds’s biggest problem.

“If he’s not in the game, they need that little bit of a spark and a little bit more creativity when teams sit in and defend deep.”
