Arsenal should play for a draw against Liverpool, like Tottenham Hotspur did against Manchester City, suggests Danny Mills.

Danny Mills suggested on Sky Sports News on Friday morning (10:28am, August 23, 2019) that Arsenal should follow Tottenham Hotspur’s lead when they take on Liverpool on Saturday evening.

Arsenal will lock horns with Liverpool away from home at Anfield in the Premier League in a few hours’ time.

Although the Gunners have made a strong start to the 2019-20 campaign, the Reds will head into the match as favourites.

Former Manchester City right-back Mills believes that Arsenal should play for a draw against Liverpool at Anfield, just as Tottenham did at the Etihad Stadium last weekend.

Spurs played out a 2-2 draw with City in the Premier League last weekend, and Mills believes that the North London outfit wanted to pick up just a point and did not go for the win.

Mills said on Sky Sports News on Friday morning (10:28am, August 23, 2019): “Tottenham didn’t have a great record against the big six either. They went to Manchester City last week, and they were playing for a draw. That’s clearly what it was.”

Mills added: “Arsenal have to do that. You cannot go to Anfield, you cannot go to the Etihad, and try to outplay and outscore the opposition because you are going to get torn apart.”

Gameplan

Liverpool have one of the strongest teams in Europe, and given the firepower that manager Jurgen Klopp has at his disposal, they are bound to score against Arsenal.

The Gunners also have a good attacking unit, but defensively there are question marks and they should be happy if they are able to bag a point at Anfield tonight.
