Former Leeds United defender Danny Mills has told BBC Radio 5 Live he would consider a coaching role at the club if he was offered one.
Mills was speaking alongside Robbie Savage and Chris Sutton on 5 Live’s Monday Night Club about whether former professional footballers are given the right support and backing when it comes to getting into management.
The ex-England international has not taken up a coaching role, but has also not entirely ruled it out.
Leeds’ Danny Mills is challenged by Blackburn’s Andrew Cole
He was asked by host Mark Chapman, ‘If Leeds had come to you, and said forget who is in charge chairman and ownership wise, we want you to take our under-14s for two years, would you say yes?’
Mills responded: “Quite possibly. I did my licenses, and if that offer was there, then I would consider it.”
One topic discussed was whether the football authorities should bring in a rule which dictates former players should take charge of youth team roles, in a bid to get them working their way up.

The model discussed and praised was Ajax, where Dutch legends Edwin van der Sar and Dennis Bergkamp are among the former stars to have taken on roles with the club.
While none of the players from Mills’ Leeds era team are currently involved with the club on the coaching staff, the club do have two former Premier League players on the coaching staff.
Garry Monk is in his second job in management, while former striker James Beattie is working as part of his staff as first team coach.
