Leeds United tasted their first disappointment of the season when they were knocked out of the EFL Cup by Stoke City on Tuesday night.

Danny Mills has lauded Leeds United supporters as ‘proper’ and praised the players for their ‘class’ reaction to Jack Harrison missing a crucial spot-kick during their League Cup defeat to Stoke on Tuesday night.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side came from 2-0 down to send their EFL Cup tie to penalties, but Harrison’s crucial penalty ended up hitting the post and Stoke progressed through to the next round.
Only a few days earlier, Leeds walked all over Stoke in the Championship, with Nathan Jones under pressure as his side bottom of the table. But they responded to their poor start by knocking out Leeds.
Despite that defeat, Mills sent this Instagram message about his former club as the Elland Road faithful will love to see what he had to say.

It will be a tough defeat to take for Leeds, but the players and manager won’t dwell on it too much because they have more pressing matters to deal with.
The Yorkshire club are sitting top of the Championship table with 13 points from their opening five matches and on the weekend they take on Swansea City, who are level on points with them.
This is a great chance for Leeds to open up a cushion against their Championship rivals because if they do then they’ll go into the international break full of positivity.
Despite losing on penalties to Stoke, Bielsa will be pleased that Nketiah scored another goal, Helder Costa opened his account and his players showed fight in the second half.
