Danny Mills said on Racing Post that Son Heung-min is the first name on the Tottenham Hotspur teamsheet, not Harry Kane.
The former Leeds United and Manchester City right-back has been impressed by the displays produced by Son so far this season.
Mills has outlined the work-rate of the South Korea international on Racing Post, and has suggested that he is now more important to Jose Mourinho’s side than his teammate and star striker Kane.
The Englishman said on Racing Post: “He is the first name on the teamsheet. He is outstanding. Yes (before Kane) because his work rate, you know what you are going to get week in week out.
“Harry Kane has had one or two injuries at times. If Son’s fit, he has got to play because his energy levels are superb, what he gives for the team.”
Stats
Kane has scored five goals and provided eight assists in six Premier League matches for Tottenham so far this season, according to WhoScored.
Son has scored eight goals and given two assists in six league appearances for Spurs so far this campaign, according to WhoScored.

Both are equally important
Son has been superb for Spurs, and it is clear that the 28-year-old South Korea international is a key figure in Mourinho’s team.
However, Kane’s importance cannot be undermined. The England international is playing as a number 10 at times, and him dropping deep and creating chances for Son is helping the South Korea international bang in the goals for fun.
