The Tottenham Hotspur manager openly admits how much the Leeds United boss has influenced his career.

Danny Mills suggested that Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa’s managerial style is similar to that of Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, when speaking during a guest appearance on Sky Sports’ Premier League Daily programme (Monday January 21st, 12:52).
The Whites have been mightily impressive under the guidance of the Argentine, and they currently sit at the top of the Championship table, one point clear of second placed Norwich City.
Bielsa has implemented a wonderfully attractive, expansive brand of attacking football at Leeds, and the Elland Road faithful can be forgiven for thinking that this season will be their year.
The 63-year-old is well-respected within the game, and has many admirers, including Tottenham chief Pochettino.
The Spurs boss has always talked up the fact that he idolises Bielsa, and has based his footballing philosophy on that of his countryman.
And Mills explained how the pair are more similar than anyone might think, when speaking during a guest appearance on Sky Sports’ Premier League Daily programme (Monday January 21st, 12:52):

“Leeds are top of the table for a reason, this is the same group of players, very very little investment, he has coached those players, worked those players and changed it, and this seems to be, Pochettino has done very very similar things at Tottenham, it’s going back to the old school way of coaching the players and improving what you had.”
Bielsa might very well come head-to-head with Poch next season, if his Leeds side maintain their place inside the top two, and the Tottenham boss would surely love that to happen.
