Leeds United are in the top six of the Championship at the moment.

Danny Mills in action for Leeds

Danny Mills said on the Sky Sports Now show on Sky Sports News HQ on Monday morning (broadcast from 10am, February 13, 2017) that Leeds United will finish in the top six of the Championship this season.

The West Yorkshire outfit are fifth in the league table at the moment with 54 points from 31 matches.

Former Leeds defender Mills has backed Garry Monk’s side to clinch a playoff spot.

“I would expect Leeds to still make the playoffs, and if they do that, it’s then a complete lottery because it could be an outstanding goal, a slip, a bad refereeing decision,” said Mills on the Sky Sports Now show on Sky Sports News HQ on Monday morning (broadcast from 10am, February 13). “Get yourselves in there and then we will go up via the playoffs, that’s fine.”

Leeds are exceeding expectations this season, but no one can say that they do not deserve to be where they are.

Under Monk, who was appointed the club’s head coach in the summer of 2016 following the departure of Steve Evans, there is harmony in the dressing room and the players are all pulling in one direction.

Recent results, though, have been poor. Successive defeats to Huddersfield Town and Cardiff City in the Championship have been disappointing, but Leeds can bounce back.

The Whites will return to action on Tuesday evening when they take on Bristol City at Elland Road in the Championship and should pick up all three points from the encounter.
