Leeds United top the Championship table after eight games following their draw against Derby County over the weekend.

Danny Mills has warned Leeds United that their inability to punish teams is becoming a ‘real problem’ despite Marcelo Bielsa’s side being ‘the best team’ in the Championship.
Over the weekend, Leeds recorded a 1-1 draw with Derby County at Elland Road to remain top of the Championship table, but it should have been three points for the home team.
Chris Martin ended up scoring a stoppage-time equaliser, but Leeds should have seen the game out well before Martin came onto the pitch as a substitute.
Speaking to Sunday Exclusive on TalkSport (22/09/2019 at 1:30 pm), Mills urged his former club to ‘prove’ their worth in front of goal because it could become problematic in their bid to earn promotion.
“They missed a penalty [against Derby],” Mills told TalkSport. “There was the Forest game at the start of the season where they dominated and couldn’t put the ball into the back of the net. Same thing at Swansea. The same thing [against Derby].
“Same thing last season. Dominated possession, creating chances and lots of chances. But not killing teams off and putting the ball away. I said they are the best team in the Championship with the way that they play and the squad they have. But they have got to prove it. If they don’t start scoring, it’s going to become a real problem.”

If Leeds didn’t have a problem in putting teams away then many would perhaps agree that they would have walked away with the Championship title last season.
But, in the end, it was one of their problems, and it seems as though it could be filtering through to this current campaign, which no Leeds fan wants to see.
However, last season, Bielsa had injury problems to his forward line with Kemar Roofe and Patrick Bamford not really playing together as much.
At this moment in time, Eddie Nketiah and Bamford are in the same matchday squad, and if that remains the same, then Bielsa will have more firepower on the bench if they find that they can’t kill off games.
